(A behind-the-scenes look at Vancouver’s most artistic boudoir studio)
When I first walked into what we now lovingly call the “Moss Mansion”, it wasn’t yet a studio.
It was a blank canvas, just a big empty house with lots of potential, and lots of 90’s chic decor from the landlords. If I’m being reeeally honest, it seemed like a dream I never imagined would become our reality. We had thought about moving our boudior studio from Victoria to Vancouver for years, and we only came over to look at this place on a whim, not convinced we’d actually get accepted. We were looking at places to rent for a home studio, and I knew that my non-negotiable requirement of being able to paint might make it hard for us to find the perfect space. Yet only a few months later, we began painting the first place we looked at, and shaping it into the beautiful, soulful Vancouver boudoir home studio it is today.
Take a peak at how it started…
We started our business in Victoria BC, in the quaint quiet wilds of Vancouver Island. While I will always be grateful for that chapter and what we were able to accomplish in such a small city, it was time to spread our wings.
My clients began flying in for sessions from further and further away, and being more accessible and close to a large internaional airport became increasingly important.
For a long time, I’d also been dreaming of a creative sanctuary I could truly grow into - a home where art, sensuality, and soul could coexist.
Where clients would arrive nervous and leave glowing.
Where laughter during our shoots could echo through the halls, and creativity could expand without limits.
I wanted a place that felt like ours - one that could morph, evolve, and hold every version of what Moss Photography could become. A studio that would breathe with me, shift with the seasons, and hold space for transformation.
And now, I do. It’s not just a studio anymore - it’s my home. Literally and metaphorically.
When we made the move over from the island we made the decision to end our commercial studio lease, and instead of finding a tiny shoebox studio downtown we opted to merge the studio with our home, and it makes the studio feel that much more full of love and intention.
A Studio That Breathes
The Moss Boudoir studio isn’t a sterile white box or a blank photo backdrop.
It’s meant to make you feel alive - full of textures, curated art, soft lighting, and inspiration.
When you arrive for your boudoir session in Coquitlam, we usually start by getting you settled in the client closet area. You drop your bags, relax, unwind, and select a beverage from our drink menu.
To reach it, you ascend our grand staircase lined with classical art celebrating the female form - a glimpse into the muses and movements that inspire my fine art boudoir photography.
From there, we’ll show you the heart of the studio: our Main Studio and the Renaissance Room.
We designed these spaces to hold familiar Moss energy yet offer distinct aesthetics - so we can move seamlessly from classic, statuesque forms beside the columns in the main studio to the intimate, painterly feel of the Renaissance Room.
Every corner has been built intentionally, with light and energy in mind.
I wanted to create a space that blurs the line between studio and sanctuary, where every client feels like the living art that they are.

The FIREPLACE ROOM
Our main studio is a beautiful, open space - flooded with natural light from a large bay window draped in sheer curtains.
It’s also where you start your day getting your hair and makeup done in front of our 13 foot arched window, decompressing and allowing space for your nerves to dissipate before we start your session.
One end features a vintage fireplace and a grand antique mirror; the other, our darker bed set framed by elegant white columns. It’s a dreamscape for playing with contrast - gilded portraits, textured wallpaper, or sensual four-poster bed shots illuminated by soft window light.
The Renaissance Room
It’s no secret that my art is deeply influenced by the Renaissance — darker forms inspired by Caravaggio and Gentileschi, with a reverence for shadow and the sensuality of natural light. I wanted a room that embodied that essence.
Enter: the Renaissance Room.
The lime-washed walls blend dual tones of deep green.
A gorgeous antique vanity holds art books and vintage lamps that cast the room in a soft golden glow.
The hardwood floors make for incredible wet statue shoots - reflections, ripples, and texture everywhere.
And on our feature wall hangs an extraordinary 12-foot vintage wallpaper scene, unlike anything I’ve ever seen in another boudoir studio near Vancouver - a slice of European fantasy dropped right into the heart of Coquitlam.
This room is where magic happens, where you get to celebrate yourself as a living, breathing, dancing, laughing work of art and textures in real time.
THE PILLAR PARLOR
The newest addition to the studio is our pillar parlor… which is a set inspired by duality. One room, with two very different aesthetics based on your choice.
You can keep it as a natural grecian inspired backdrop, complete with pillars, draping fabric, and soft candle light. Or… try our pole bonus set for something more daring and set the stage for the next exploration of your desires — don’t worry you’re in safe hands… I’ve been doing pole for over 8 years, I can help coach you safely into basic poses so you can embody your inner showgirl.
My Invitation
When I photograph within these walls, I feel part of a lineage - a long line of female artists who used light to capture a moment in time, to use the art of observing self as a portal into immortalizing, documenting, and celebrating this brief existence.
The Moss Mansion is my modern atelier - a playground of texture, shadow, and story.
And you, muse, are always welcome here.
Come experience luxury boudoir photography in Vancouver that feels like stepping into a painting.
This isn’t just a studio - it’s a sanctuary.
